In addition to the usual Android TV capabilities, you can also use the Dune HD Media Center, which can be installed later. It is practically a Linux-based Dune HD operating system running in a special virtual container, running parallel to Android TV, which can be launched as an Android application. The desktop Dune HD offers a familiar interface and features for media players, using the experience of Dune HD programmers over the past 14 years. This is how the advanced file browser and media player engine works here, the full-menu Blu-ray playback from ISO files and file structures (with the highest compatibility in its category), high-level support for Dolby Vision files, the spectacular, Netflix-like jukebox interface, MyCollection movie jukebox, the Dune Control mobile remote control app and many other extras.

Latest technologies (AV1, Dolby Vision and Atmos, etc.)

This device is also familiar with the latest technologies: AV1 and VP9 profile 2 video encoding, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Dolby MAT. The AV1 video codec offers a 50% improvement in image quality compared to H.265 at the same bit rate. YouTube already uses it, and it's constantly spreading through other services. VP9 profile 2 is the video codec used for YouTube's HDR content, with which we can play them in 4K/HDR quality. Dolby Vision compatibility is equivalent to that of Dune HD's Realtek-processor desktop players, i.e.:

- Management of profile 5, 7 (MEL and FEL), 8 also for ISO, folder structure, MKV, MP4 and MT2TS.
- DTDL (double lane, double layer), STDL (single lane, double layer), STSL (single lane, single layer).
- When playing double-track, double-layer videos (profile 7 FEL and MEL as well), it uses the video information of both layers; the image data from the first band of the first layer (with 10-bit color depth, which is the maximum color depth for OLED panels), and the extended Dolby Vision information (RPU metadata) from the second band and layer.

Using Dolby MAT technology, the following sound formats can be played and transmitted (even in the case of 7.1 originals) in both analog and digital (PCM) formats, but only max. at 48 kHz (in movies from online stream providers, the soundtrack can be max. 48 kHz):

- Dolby Digital, Digital Plus, Digital Plus with Atmos, TrueHD, TrueHD with Atmos,
- DTS, DTS HD HRA, DTS HD MA, DTS:X.

The following audio formats can be transmitted digitally in their original (even multi-channel) format:

- Dolby Digital, Digital Plus, Digital Plus with Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby TrueHD with Atmos
- DTS.

In this way, multi-channel, HD DTS soundtracks can also be transmitted digitally, in true PCM format, as well as intact with Dolby TrueHD and TrueHD Atmos. If our amplifier supports Dolby MAT technology, we will have no problem with most audio tracks. However, for those for whom it is important to hear pristine, original quality DTS HD, DTS:X and Auro-3D soundtracks, we still recommend Dune HD players with Realtek processors.
