Traditional Chinese medicine recommends all types of pears for lung care. This intensely sweet Chinese fruit (Siraitia grosvenorii) grows in a tropical environment surrounded by beautiful ancient mountains. It has been used in China for thousands of years, although at first it was only the privilege of the Chinese emperors to consume Monk Pear.
In China, it is traditionally used to treat the respiratory tract and throat, and is extremely popular among professional singers. Diabetics can use it to replace sugar, even a sweet syrup can be made during further boiling of the tea. The sweet taste of the fruit is due to the mogrosides (a group of triterpene glycosides) found in its flesh. Dieters can use it as a sugar substitute even for cooking, and in case of increased thirst, it is recommended to drink the tea made from the fruit chilled.
Dosage (use): Pour half of a halved fruit with 1.5 l of hot water, let it stand for 15 minutes. You can scald the fruit several times. For a better effect, do not take it out of the water afterwards.
