The Discovery Crafts DGL 40 magnifying glass is an optical device that makes working with small objects more convenient. Interchangeable lenses provide five different magnifications, and the built-in lighting effectively illuminates the work surface. All lenses are made of polymer optical glass – a very strong material with a high degree of transparency. Their image is clear, contrasty and sharp. The lenses are attached to the glasses frame, but cannot be combined with each other: only one lens may be used at a time. The viewing angle of the lenses is relatively wide, which allows you to use both eyes at the same time. If necessary, the stems of the glasses frame can be removed and a textile headband can be used instead.

In the middle of the frame there is a block of two LEDs. They work with two batteries.
