The diopter compensation can be adjusted on the right eyepiece. Eyeglass wearers can easily fix the eyepieces in four positions to achieve the perfect viewing distance and avoid narrowing the field of vision. While the EDX 8.5x50 is based on the proven roof prism system (Schmidt Pechan), the glass types used in these binoculars have been completely redesigned. This innovative ED (Extra Low Dispersion) glass reduces contour discoloration even more than most ED binoculars to date. The user thus gets perfectly coordinated and brilliant colors. Newly developed for the EDX 8.5x50, the PHC140 phase correction coating blocks 99 percent of all unwanted wave optical effects and thus prevents even the slightest blurring. The so-called apochromatic correction (APO) reliably eliminates contour and color errors in the EDX 8.5x50. The EDX 8.5x50 device provides the optical image in the maximum resolution that can be reproduced according to the current state of the art. This is guaranteed by the special DDlucid coating, with which the Schmidt-Pechan roof prism is supplemented with two roof surfaces.
