Product description
The volume, which is in the hands of the dear Reader, is a collection of studies that try to contribute new aspects to the modern and source-based interpretation of the 1956 revolution and freedom struggle. In the pages of the book, the authors immortalized the materials of two conferences held in Székesfehérvár in the fall of 2016. The publication was created with the cooperation of several institutions, the Alba Polisz Science Park Association, the Hungarian National Archives, the Diocese of Székesfehérvár, and János Kodolányi College. The authors approach the narratives of 1956 that are still valid today from the perspective of Hungarian political history, micro-history, church, cultural and economic history, domestic and foreign policy, and personal life paths, and introduce the interested reader to their new research results. If the dear reader who is interested in the topic delves into the 19 studies in this volume, the virtues of this work will already become visible: the current research directions, but supported by historical experiences and sources, the analytical presentation of the tense historical challenges around us that are still affecting us, the creation of value combined with professional standards. , as well as the inclusion of new knowledge materials that can be used in the process of nation-building in education.
