The practical CA-TEC CA 15FL electrochemical fuel cell breathalyzer is the gold standard of hand-held breathalyzers for personal and professional use, at the level of a police breathalyzer. The breath is directed into a fuel cell sensor with dual platinum electrodes, where the alcohol is oxidized and generates electricity. By accurately measuring this current, the alcohol tester provides an extremely accurate measurement. The fuel cell sensor is specific for alcohol only and does not respond to acetone, ketones or other substances that may be present in human breath. The tester is equipped with an advanced temperature function that helps to operate in the optimal temperature range.
