One of the main features of the new back-illuminated SONY IMX290 CMOS sensor is its high sensitivity to light, which allows the detection of deep-sky objects without active cooling. SONY has increased the quantum efficiency to 77% at 533 nm wavelength, which is much better than what other CMOS sensors have been able to achieve in the past.

If you have a motorized or GO-TO telescope, in this case you can connect the built-in ST-4 port of the camera directly to the port on the telescope stand – there are many popular audio guiding programs, such as PHD, Guidedog and the like. With Autoguiding, you can take accurate, excellent pictures even with long exposure times of several minutes, thanks to this extra light-sensitive camera. An ST-4 protocol connection cable is also included in the package.

The camera is compatible with almost any telescope that has a 1.25" socket (M28.5x0.6) or that can be connected to a C-mount adapter thread (1"x1/32").

The autogider software is not part of the package. You can use one of the following: PHD2 Guiding, Guidedog, Metaguide, Guidemaster (free) or AstroArt, MaxIm DL (paid).
