Berlin Lucia - Este a paradicsomban - Újabb stories
Product description
Confidence and serenity are always hidden in the struggling lives of Lucia Berlin's little American people. The hope that things can turn for the better one day does not disappear for a moment, as happened in the author's extremely busy life. Berlin coped with the problems of alcohol, violence, poverty. In addition to three marriages, a heroin-addicted husband, and raising four children, she found time to write, where she could fulfill her unique personality and create her unique voice, to earn her rightful place in the pantheon of world literature long after her death.
In our volume, her short stories in the evening in paradise are accompanied by the memoir Welcome Home, in which Lucia Berlin writes about the places she called home in the first twenty-nine years of her life, from Alaska to Argentina, from Kentucky to Mexico, from New York to Chile. This text, which was interrupted in the middle of a sentence by the writer's death, is supplemented by photographs and letters selected by her son. "These were busy years - full of drama, development, social upheaval; my mother's letters offer a fascinating glimpse into the thoughts of a young mother and a hopeful writer struggling with self-discovery," writes Jeff Berlin in the volume's foreword.
