Product description
In the early afternoon of August 11, 1820, János Lavotta, the nationally renowned violinist and composer, collapsed in the Tálya pharmacy. In the next few hours, while his friends unsuccessfully try to bring him back to his senses, he dreams about his life in pre-reform Hungary, his childhood violin lessons, his concerts, meetings, wanderings, and loves. Hovering between life and passing away, he dreams reality and dreams, intertwining past and present, until he reaches the end of the story of his life both in dream and in reality.
Following the biography of his close friend, Mihály Bernát, which survived in manuscript, the novel evokes Lavotta, whose musical works are still heard from time to time.
