The new Belkin UltraGlass 2 screen protector is our strongest and most durable screen protector. Its double ion exchange technology alters the chemical composition of the glass, causing greater stress and compressing it. Higher tension ultimately makes the glass stronger and more durable.

Double ion exchange glass was superior to single ion exchange glass as it could create deeper and more extensive compressive stress layers, resulting in better overall strength and durability. Making the single ion exchange glass twice as strong resulted in a glass twice as strong as the tempered glass. UltraGlass was durable yet just as elegant as our other screen protectors: smooth to the touch, resistant to fingerprint smudges, yet ultra-thin at 0.29mm for precision touchscreen sensitivity.

The new material of the UltraGlass 2 screen protector goes through two salt baths, where the ions in the glass are exchanged for larger ions from the salt bath. The resulting glass has a completely new molecular structure. The ions are compressed more tightly, making them more durable and impact resistant than any of our previous screen protectors.

Thanks to our chemical composition process, the UltraGlass 2 material is 2.7 times stronger than tempered glass. The magic of the Belkin UltraGlass 2 is that it doesn't contain any thickness or weight.
