Bartók Imre - Horses a folyóban (2022)

The narrator of Horses in the River wrote his main work, but the expected success was not achieved, and even his marriage ran aground. Retreating to the basement of a house full of strange residents, he tries to settle his ambitions and put order in his life, which seems to be getting more and more confused.
Imre Bartók's new novel is a painful and sarcastic chronicle of personal collapse. I wonder what Empedocles and Gollum have to do with each other? What was Goethe and Albert Speer's favorite board game? Who pushes passengers under the subway running on the side of Gellért Hill? What did King Rhadamanthus do with his horses, and why is the human heart so sad?

"I'm a writer," I say, surprising myself, and I almost throw up.
