Bán Mór - A Csillagösvény hídja - Hunyadi third book (2009)
Product description
Even after János Hunyadi returned home from Italy, he could not spend peaceful years on his estate, surrounded by his family. His sword is needed in the Czech Republic, against the Hussite insurgents. Czech and Hungarian partisans weave their plans around the elderly King Sigismund, who is in poor health, even sacrificing their own relatives in order to achieve their ambitious goals. Meanwhile, Transylvania is engulfed in flames: serfs, commoners and guild lads, moaning about the unbearable tax burdens of Bishop György Lépes, take up arms and demand justice. The peasant horde begins to wreak bloody havoc, and it is feared that it will only spare the Hunyadi estates for a while. Among the lords busy with the upcoming change of ruler and the suppression of the rebellion, only a few see that the Hungarian nation should urgently restore its unity, because beyond the southern borders there is a danger many times greater than the Hussites and the serfs. For the few who are worried about their homeland, it is becoming increasingly obvious that they can put their hope in only one person: János Hunyadi.
