The Aqara Smoke Detector can even work on its own (with sound and light), but a gateway with Zigbee 3.0 communication is required for full functionality. In terms of its working principle, this product is a photoelectric smoke detector, which detects the smoke and identifies the formation of fire in its early stages. As soon as the smoke concentration reaches the preset threshold value, the device gives an alarm with a sound and light signal. It also sends a notification through the Aqara app using the gateway. An Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub is required to use the device. Apple HomeKit integration requires a compatible Aqara hub.

Maintenance and Warnings
- Clean dust and dirt from the device monthly with a dry cloth
- Carry out the device self-check every month
- Do not insert any other type of battery into the device, as there is a risk of explosion

Quick setup in Aqara environment
- Download the Aqara Home app and connect the Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub
- Insert the supplied battery into the sensor
- Select the “Smoke Detector” option in the app, then quickly press the button on the device three times. After successful pairing, you can configure the device
- If pairing fails, move the sensor closer to the hub and try again

Installation instructions
- Install the smoke detector on the ceiling of each individual room, at least 0.5 meters from walls or corners
- Do not place it in a kitchen, bathroom, dusty or wet place, near an air conditioner
- In the case of new buildings, carry out the installation after the renovation works
- If ceiling installation is not possible, install it on the longest side wall, at least 0.5 meters from the ceiling
