Anton Pavlovics Csehov - A szerelemről and más stories

Happy and unhappy loves, nostalgia, the desire for a life worthy of man - what is Chekhov talking about to today's readers? The world has changed, but have the loves, desires and nostalgias changed since the hundred-plus years since these stories first appeared? The characters brought to the game are familiar: doctors and their patients, a complete high school teaching staff, lords and peasants, maids and emancipated women, gentlemen's ladies and their gentlemen's parents... Human relationships are revealed here in their infinite richness, Chekhovian empathy with humor and lyricism. and his interwoven voice permeates all stories, so sorrow is never completely bitter, and nostalgia is never completely hopeless. The seventeen short stories in the volume were selected by the translator, Géza Morcsányi.
