It seems that a war involving hundreds of worlds and solar systems has finally come to an end. Szkur, who made it through the turbulent period as a soldier, wants to return to his family and continue his life, but peace has not yet fully arrived, neither for him nor for humanity. As soon as news of the cease-fire is announced, the woman, who was separated from her unit, is caught by an aggressive, self-righteous war criminal, who puts a deadly bullet into her body in a ruined bunker and leaves her to her fate.
Szkur regains consciousness aboard a prisoner transporter and soon learns that the spaceship has suffered a major malfunction. Soldiers on both sides of the war are waking up from hibernation much earlier than expected. Only the data and memories fed into the projectiles implanted in their bodies provide some kind of connection to the world that they would not know about otherwise. Szkur will soon face his old enemy again, but this time the stakes are much higher than his own life.

The short novel by the author of the Revelations tere series offers an interstellar adventure about betrayal, identity and the survival of civilization.
