Agócs Nándor - Dignitas Auctoritas Maiestas and Potestas Pannoniában
Product description
Known Pannonian and local holders of political, religious and economic power in the Pannonia region from the time of Augustus to Iustinian
This book is a compilation belonging to the genre of prosopography, which discusses the well-known members of Roman Pannonian society who possessed potentia-potestas beyond the local level. Thus the Pannonian-born emperors, the Pannonian members of the Ordo senatorius and ordo equester, the provincial high priests, the leaders of the Pannonian colonies, municipalities and indigenous communities. Hence, it is about the elite that make up the pinnacle of the imagined provincial social pyramid, who either had significant influence in the province, either as leaders of individual communities or because of their social rank and position. It includes data on individual individuals and their analysis from the beginning to the end of Roman rule in Pannonia, and as a kind of value judgment it draws a non-redrawable boundary between the strata of Pannonian society.
