Adeline Dieudonné - Az real life

"We had four rooms back home. Mine, my younger brother named Gilles, my parents and the dead animals." The novel's narrator, a ten-year-old girl with a special talent who is fond of natural sciences, is trying to escape from this life. His father is a passionate hunter and a ruthless predator himself. His mother is an insignificant, terrified "amoeba", at the mercy of her husband's regular physical and verbal abuse. His six-year-old brother is the only one with whom he can experience the feeling of love, but a tragic accident changes the little boy, who drifts ever closer to his father's terrible world. From then on, the girl has only one goal: to stay alive to save Gilles' soul. And there's only one way to do this: you have to travel back in time...
Adeline Dieudonné's imaginative, yet infinitely realistic, brutal, yet lyrically tender story leads into a brilliantly dark and sensual world, uncompromisingly presenting the most terrible and uplifting moments of a young girl's life.
