Product description
Perhaps it is not an exaggeration to say that Christmas is the most beautiful holiday, since it is associated with love, and over time a whole circle of holidays has joined it. Significant days such as St. Catherine's Day and St. Andrew's Day fall on the period immediately before Christmas, on which it is believed that young people can dream about their future at night after fasting. On St. Nicholas' Day, Santa Claus treats the children, and on Luca's Day, countless customs and superstitions are connected. In many places, pork pie was also kept during this period.
Unfortunately, for many of us, the season of Advent is mainly about stress. It is often difficult to prepare our hearts for the holiday in addition to our homes, to experience the beauty of waiting, to guess the eternal mystery of Christmas and with it birth, which is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for so many artists to this day.
In this volume, the writings of classical Hungarian poets and writers - including Miklós Radnóti, Frigyes Karinthy, Dezső Kosztolányi, Endre Ady, Kálmán Mikszáth and Zsigmond Móricz - were given space in anticipation of the holiday. Their lines prove that the period before Christmas can be at least as full of emotions and events as the holiday itself, and at the same time they can also contribute to the fact that by lighting the Advent candles, not only the room but also our hearts shine with the light of the holiday.
