SMSL M300 MK2 - Desktop DAC with Bluetooth connection

The SMSL M300 MKII is a powerful and compact DAC now with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Integrating high-quality components, it is a perfect tool to offer your HiFi system a quality digital/analog converter.

AK4497 DAC and high-end components

The M300 is equipped with AKM's AK4497EQ high-end DAC chip. The latter supports high sampling rates, up to 32bit 768kHz in PCM and up to DSD512 in DSD. In addition, the chip uses its own Velvet Sound architecture, which allows it to provide high SNR (128dB) and very low distortions (THD + N -116dB) for neutral and accurate reproduction.

This chip is combined with many quality components, such as a second generation XMOS USB interface, two ultra-low-phase Japanese NDK clock generators that significantly limit jitter between 44.1kHz / 48kHz and multiple frequencies, and finally a series of audiophile-grade resistors and capacitors.

Design, screen and connectivity

All components are integrated into a CNC-machined aluminum housing, both robust and allowing to limit interference that can degrade the audio signal. The front panel is covered by a tempered glass plate and a 1.54 "IPS screen that allows you to display all the information related to reading files (input, filter, sampling rate, reading format ...). Control is simply done with two buttons on the front panel, which allows you to turn the device on and off, select an input, change the color of the display or select an audio filter.

The 3.5 mm jack, Micro USB (XMOS) and Bluetooth antenna connectors are located on the back of the device through the SPDIF Optical / Coaxial input. On the output side, the M300 offers balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA.
