The versatile BRITA Maxtra Pro Pure Performace filter insert provides tasty, freshly filtered water, making it the perfect choice for both cold and hot drinks. Filters out trace contaminants such as herbicides, pesticides and pharmaceuticals. At the same time, it reduces the amount of flavor-enhancing substances (chlorine, lead or copper). Another advantage is that it helps protect devices against limescale, thus extending their lifespan. The filter insert boasts a very high efficiency - the extremely fine mesh ensures excellent retention of particles found in older pipes. One cartridge can replace up to 150 1 liter plastic bottles. BRITA Maxtra Pro Pure Performace is particularly suitable for areas with soft to medium hard water.

Advanced filtration with MicroFlow technology reduces limescale, water hardness, heavy metals and substances that negatively affect the taste of water, such as chlorine. The lifetime of the BRITA Maxtra Pro Pure Performance filter cartridge is up to 150 liters or 4 weeks of use. The advantage is that it can be used with any BRITA water filter jug, including older ones. Filtering takes place in four stages:

- Through the inlet, unfiltered water flows into the filter, where mechanical impurities are trapped in the fine mesh
- The water then comes into contact with the filter mixture, where the ion exchanger removes unwanted ions, heavy metals (copper, lead, etc.), reduces water hardness and scale formation
- Activated carbon then reduces the amount of substances such as chlorine, pesticides and organic impurities that have a negative effect on the taste of tap water
- In the final stage, it filters the water through a very fine sieve at the bottom to remove microscopic impurities
